Shirley L. Maro, 84, of Milford passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her home. She was born on December 15, 1932 in Milford, the daughter of Eugene Rustyand Susie Pentecost Swope. She married Remo Maro in Hoopeston on May 16, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2006. Surviving are one son, David Maro of Milford; two grandsons, Anthony (Jessica) Maro of Homewood, IL and Alex Maro of Mishawaka, IN; one great granddaughter, Ava Maro; and one daughter-in-law, Cindy Maro of Milford. In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Swope; one sister, Emma Jean Miskulin; and one son, Daniel Maro. Mrs. Maro was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford. She enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, and she loved children. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford. Rev. Karl Gibbs will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford as well as one hour prior to the funeral services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
