Shirley Hicks, 65, of Champaign, Illinois, passed on December 10, 2020. Shirley was born on May 30, 1955. Shirley was a 1973 graduate of Champaign High School, in Champaign IL where she was a great student. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She left the embrace of her family embraces December 10th, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her 5 children, Von Hicks, Shantel Austin, Shania Austin, Duane Hicks, Shannon Hicks. 12 grandchildren, 1 brother Coryln Washington. A host of nieces and nephews and lots of cousins and Aunts and Uncles who loved her dearly. Preceding her death are both her Mother and Father David and (Loretta) Hicks, and 1 grandson Terrence Hicks. You often hear that people are full of life but that just does not go far enough to describe Shirley. She always saw things as bright, as hopeful, and as fun. She brought a sense of optimism and loveliness to every situation, and her smile could brighten up an already sunny room. Shirley will be deeply missed by her loving family and anyone who was blessed to know her. It is her wish that you all keep living and keep thriving as if she is still with you.
