BUTLER — Shirley E. Chapman, 82, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on June 25, 1933 in St. Joe, Indiana, to the late Harry and Lula (Lutz) Shuff. She married David B. Chapman on September 16, 1994 in St. Joe, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1995. Surviving are a son, John Wogoman of Butler, Indiana; daughter, Janice (Larry) Epling of Montpelier, Ohio; stepsons Steven Chapman of Venice, Florida and Mark Chapman of Harrison, Ohio; stepdaughter Cynthia Walter of Butler, Indiana; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers Chalmer Shuff of Arizona, Bill (Vivian) Shuff of California and Jim Shuff of Auburn, Indiana; and sisters Joan Mills of St. Joe, Indiana, Roseann (Larry) Kinsey of St. Joe, Indiana, Claudia Hulbert of Auburn, Indiana, and Faye Tarlton of Auburn, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Shuff; granddaughter Tina Renfrow; brothers Harry Jr., Franklin, Bud and Bob Shuff; and sisters Janice Witte, Kate Clady, Mary Jane Snook, Linda Sattison, Kaye Ells and Jackie Walker. Shirley worked in several bakeries including the Publix Stores in Florida. She loved to play with her cats and on the computer. Calling will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, Indiana. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Platner officiating. Memorials may be made out to the family.
