Shirley (Beckley) SmithDELAWARE: Shirley (Beckley) Smith, age 76, of Delaware passed away Monday afternoon, February 6, 2017.She was born on December 8, 1940 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Frank and Evelyn (Bolin) Beckley. A graduate of Lancaster High School in 1958, she also attended the Ohio State University. While in Lancaster, Champ Smith wooed and wowed her at a high school dance and they were married in 1959. Shirley helped him receive his degree and together they shared 53 wonderful years, raising a family and supporting each other through the joys and trials of life. They were stationed in Hawaii for a brief time during Champ's service in the US Army. Sadly, Champ passed away on April 13, 2013.Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Tari Anderson of Cincinnati and Sherry Clark of Stratford; five treasured grandchildren, Sam, Paige and Grant Anderson and Ceci and Cozy Clark; sister, Barbara (Beckley) Braden of Lancaster; in-laws, Vic and Gina Smith of Sugar Grove; as well as a host of friends.The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 3 - 5 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware, where services will follow at 5:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow the services in the Snyder-Rodman Community Room.
