Scranton: Mrs. Barbara Kinder Sims McCutcheon, 73, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, after a long illness.

An honorary crematory service will be held at 4:00 P. M., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, by her remaining family in Lake City, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P. M., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton. The family will also receive friends at the home of her son, Charles Sims, Jr., 626 Hanna Road, Scranton, SC., Monday, November 23, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M.

Mrs. Sims-McCutcheon was born on March 13, 1942, in Olanta, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John M. Sims. She was wed to Mitchell H. McCutcheon in October 1971. Mrs. Miles was a long-time member of the Gilead Free Will Baptist Church and loved going to yard sales, painting, and knitting.

Surviving are her sister, Carolyn (Harry) Sims, of Olanta, sons Brandon McCutcheon, Chad (Amy) McCutcheon, Jason (Krystal) McCutcheon and Daniel (Niki) Perry, all of Scranton; daughters, Amy McCutcheon of Scranton and Ashley (Jeromie) Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Elijah McCutcheon, Matthew McCutcheon, Olivia Perry, Lindley McCutcheon, Vasanti "Diya" McCutcheon, Karen Gamble, and Walker McCutcheon; special friend and caregiver, Annie Pearl McGill; and special friend, Bill Marshall. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John H. Sims, James N. Sims and Earl Sims, all of Olanta; sisters, Sandra Sims-Graham; and great-grandson, Saviyon McFadden.

The family would like to thank McLeod Regional Medical Center and Hospice Care as well as Lake City-Scranton Health Care Center for their care and services provided.
