Achenbach and Ellen P. Achenbach nee Donmoyer in Lebanon. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and was a retired teacher from the Palmyra and Lebanon Schools. She was a member of the PSERS, NEA and Teachers Honor Society. Shirley was a published poet.Surviving are husband, Robert E. Zimmerman; stepsons Robert Zimmerman II, Dwayne, spouse of Tammy Zimmerman, Steven, spouse of Jennifer Zimmerman; grandchildren, Katie Ann Mehler, Kurt L. Mehler, Jr. and 11 other grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Neil Achenbach; sister, Barbara L., spouse of James Lehman; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leopold R. Mehler; sons, Kurt L. Mehler, Phillip Mehler; brothers, William Achenbach, Vernon Achenbach, Paul Achenbach, Ernest Achenbach, Jr.Viewing will be on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2 N. 8th Street, Lebanon. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
