WATERLOO — Shellie Purdy, age 48, of Waterloo passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 9, 1968 in Fort Wayne. Shellie married Terry Purdy on June 5, 2000 in Auburn. He resides in Waterloo. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed being home with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shellie was an active member of the New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo where she truly enjoyed going to church. She was also very active with the vacation bible school at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her husband, Terry Purdy of Waterloo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brandie and Aaron Harris of Auburn and Markie and Paul Grabill of Auburn; two sons, Alex Altimus of Waterloo and Mathew Purdy of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Lanie Harris, Camden Harris, Rayne Grabill and Paulson Grabill; her father, James Kirkman III of Fort Wayne; her mother, Linda Timbrook of Butler; her grandmother, Betty Kirkman of Fort Wayne; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd and Tina Kirkman of Spencerville, Chad and Devin Kirkman of St. Joe and Brandon and Tia Kirkman of Butler; and a sister, Amy Kirkman of Butler. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Kirkman II, and her grandparents, Drayton and Doris Spencer. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at New Hope Christian Center, 900 South Wayne Street in Waterloo. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo. Burial will take place at the Waterloo Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Purdy family to help with final expenses. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.fellerandclark.com.
