Shawn Lovell Butler was born January 29, 1963 to the late Betty Lee Butler in Heathsville, Virginia.

Shawn was educated in the Norththumberland County Public Schools in Virginia. He joined the United States Air Force in 1983, where he served for 8 years. Soon after joining the Air Force he married his first wife, Vanessa Rice, and their union was blessed with one daughter, LaShawn Butler, and one son, Shawn Butler II. While living in Prince George\'s County, Maryland he was employed with various companies. 

In 2007, Shawn decided he needed a change in scenery and moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he would hold positions at Verizon and the United States Postal Service. While in Alabama he would later meet his second wife, Felisha Gurley. They married in 2017.

Shawn Lovell Butler was a man of many interests. He could talk about sports, history, politics, and so much more for hours. When he wasn\'t speaking his mind or charming you with his infectious smile he could be found in front of the TV screen with his favorite beer. He could easily make you laugh and whenever he was around you knew you were bound to have a good time. 

On January 14 2021, The Lord called for him to come home. Shawn is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Felisha. His three kids, LaShawn (Maryland), Shawn (Maryland), and Kyla Mae Lee (Texas). One brother, Kenny (Mississippi); three Aunts, Theresa, Ernestine, and Phyllis; two Uncles, Bill and David (Nooksie). Seven Grandkids, Matisse, E\'laila, Symphani, Lil Shawn, Langston, Ezekiel, and Antoine. Shawn will also be forever remembered by his extended family members and dear friends.
