Sharon Yates-Distad FRANKSVILLE – Sharon Yates-Distad, age 55, passed away at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI, on April 18, 2016 from complications of a stroke. She was born on December 6, 1960 in Racine, WI to parents James and Geraldine (nee. Van Swol) Yates. On April 4, 2006, she married Steven Distad. She was a lifelong Racine resident and longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, as well as playing slot machines. Sharon survived brain cancer 14 years ago. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Steven; her children Shane (Kristie) Hubeler and Shylia Hubeler; her siblings, Barbara (Tom) Rinke and Mark (Debbie) Yates; her parents, James and Geraldine Yates; her nieces, Rachel (Jake) Shumann and Meghan Rinke; her in-laws, Judy (Craig) Maas, Bob (Janet) Distad, Jim Distad, Scott Distad, and Peggy (Jeff) Moore; and many other relatives and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Yates; grandparents, Conrad & Hilda Van Swol, James Yates, Ray & Hermina DeCoudres; and brother-in-law, John Distad. Visitation for Sharon’s family and friends will be held from 10 am – 1 pm at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, 2016.
