FORT WAYNE — Sharon E. Strater, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 5:32 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on June 9, 1951 in Wolf Lake, a daughter of James A. and Doris (Rohr) Mangus. She spent her formative years in Noble County, and graduated from West Noble High School in 1969. She graduated from St. Francis in 2007 and began her work as a Registered Nurse. Sharon was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren. The surviving relatives include her daughter, Kristi (Dave) Stroder of Churubusco; two sons, Eric Strater of Albion and Kevin (Tracy) Strater of Kendallville; a sister, Barbara (Dave) Middleton of Fort Wayne; four grandsons, Dylan Stroder, Aiden Stroder, Kaleb Strater, Samuel Strater; and her granddaughter, Lauren Stroder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Mangus and a sister, Rebecca Mangus. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, or at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
