Cordrey, SharonDelmar, DE-Sharon Johnson Cordrey, of Delmar, DE passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 67.She was born on December 16, 1948, a daughter of the late Cecil Marvin Johnson and Winifred Medford Kenton. On June 14, 1986, she married Michael Cordrey.Sharon graduated from Seaford High School and later Delaware Tech. She retired after 41 years of service as a secretary from E.I. DuPont in Seaford. She coordinated for several years the DuPont's PowerHouse picnics and served as the Secretary of DuPont's 25 year organization. At the end of her retirement, she worked at the Delmar Dollar Tree. Sharon enjoyed horses and loved to watch her grandchildren ride. Some of her favorite pastimes include bowling and traveling. She was very active in her community. Sharon served on the board of the Seaford Nylon Capital Credit Union, the board of the Delmar Public Library, the Supervisory board of the Sussex County Federal Credit Union and as the secretary of the Ward/Cordrey Tax Ditch organization. She was a member of the Delmar Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Laurel Saddle Friends. Most of all, Sharon was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband Mike Cordrey; a daughter Monica Shubert and her husband Scott; five grandchildren Seth Shubert, Cody Shubert, Shalyn Shubert, Cailee Shubert, and Elleana Shubert; her mother in law Anabel Cordrey, all of Delmar; a sister Corliss Wright and her husband Gary of Hurlock, a brother in law Kenny Cordrey, of Delmar; one nieces and two nephews Michael Johnson and his wife Christi of Preston, Dawn Coulbourne and her husband Mark of Hurlock, and Ted Cordrey and his wife Denice of Laurel; as well as several great nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers Cecil Johnson and Thomas Johnson. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel, DE with the Reverend Roland Tice and Reverend Bob Mackert officiating.
