Scott Woodson JonesJacksonville, FLScott Woodson Jones, 63, died on Saturday February 25, 2017 in Tallahassee, FL. He was born on March 3, 1953 in Nashville, TN to Billy W. Jones and Lovell Autry Jones of Tullahoma, TN where he spent his youth. He was a graduate of Tullahoma High School and the University of Memphis where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering in 1976. He has lived in Jacksonville, FL since 1985. He worked for many years as the Director of Structures for PH & A and most recently as a structural Engineer for the FL Dept. Of Transportation. He was the project manager for the design phase of the widening of the Buchman Bridge and was a past-president of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He had many friends throughout Florida and the engineering community. In addition, he enjoyed the company of a close knit group of friends in Baker County and had become a member of the Moose Lodge. Scott enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and the great many friends that he had collected throughout his life.He is survived by his loving wife Catherine; daughter, Terra Jones; son, Matthew Jones; sister, Mary DeFrees Jones; brother, Thomas Wade Jones, two nieces and many members of an extended family.A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211904-744-8422
