Savannah Noelle Cayce Obituary

Feb 19, 1996 - Jan 25, 2012

This obituary is administered by:
Savannah Noelle Cayce was born on February 19, 1996.A tragic accident took her life on June 25, 2012. She was 16 years old – much too young to leave this world, but had time to experience some of the joys and sorrows that life brings. She embraced it all with a smile and mischievous laugh. There was never a dull moment with her in our lives. We will always remember Savannah as simply beautiful, inside and out. Her ability to make us laugh as a baby transformed over the years into a truly funny girl. She always had a quick response that brought a smile and sometimes a shake of the head. She was just like that. She was known to cook for her brother and sister when they wouldn't do it for themselves – a gesture that showed her softer caring side.Savannah attended Juneau Douglas High School and Home Bridge. She swam with Glacier Swim Club since she was 5, and was a varsity member of JDHS Swim/Dive Team. She took pride in her involvement with Student Council, serving as class president her Freshman year.Savannah loved animals of all kinds and was convinced she would own a tiger one day. She's probably sticking her tongue out and saying 'I told you so' because she finally has one, even though we told her she couldn't. Maybe God gave her a baby one to raise, maybe a full grown one that she can ride around on – maybe both. Thankfully, she won't need a driver's license to ride a tiger in heaven.Savannah is survived by her mother Sunny Haight, father John Cayce, step-father Glenn Haight, brother Seth, sister Jocelyn, step-sister Allison Ireland-Haight, step-brother Stephen Ireland-Haight, maternal grandmother Kathleen Whitson, paternal grandmother Jeanette Cayce, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Ronald Whitson, and paternal grandfather Charles Cayce. A service and celebration of her beautiful life will be held on July 21, 2 p.m, at Chapel by the Lake. The Savannah Cayce Memorial Fund is established at Wells Fargo (acct #568-909-1584).Grieve her loss, but don't forget to smile, laugh, and have some fun. That's what she brought to so many lives.
