YORK Sara Jane Garbrick, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 25, 2015. She was the wife of Paul Garbrick, Jr. They would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on August 24, 2015. Sara Jane was born on April 9, 1933, to the late Albert and Helen Schlag of Red Lion. She graduated from Red Lion High School in 1950 and York Junior College in 1952 with a medical secretary degree. She was a secretary at Bendix in East York, where she met her husband. After raising her children she worked at York Bank and Trust until retirement in 1996. Sara Jane is survived by her four children, Mary Kay (Brad) Williams of Redding, Calif., Dave (Janet) Garbrick of Loganville, Phil Garbrick of Red Lion, and Rachel (Steve) Swartz of Red Lion; six grandchildren, Matt (Kylie), Mike, Jon, Becky, Meg, and Kate; and one great-granddaughter; Elsie Grace. A viewing will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market St., York. Immediately following the service, interment will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Miguel Arenas.
