SARA JANE COX, 71 FREEPORT - Sara Jane Cox, 71, of Freeport, died Monday April 30, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Sara was born on September 14, 1941, in Stephenson County, the daughter of Chris and Lucinda (Lang) Herold. Sara married Kenneth R. Cox in 1962. Mr. Cox died on July 3, 1998. Sara than married Gordon Oehl in 2003. Mr. Oehl died on November 25, 2009. Sara worked at Micro Switch for over 30 years. Surviving are two brothers; five sisters; one grandson, Craig Cox; one great-grandson, Creighton Cox. Also surviving are special friends, Kathy Groezinger and Jimmy Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Sara was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sisters; and two brothers. Cremation rights have been accorded. As Sara requested, there will be no services or visitation. A memorial has been established in her memory. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
