Jimmy Armijo, 88, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at his home in Albuquerque.Jimmy was born on May 16, 1925, to Balentin Armijo and Delfinia Gallegos, in Ocate. He left Ocate to join the Army. He took care of his beloved mother until her death. He was employed by the VA Hospital as an assistant to ophthalmologists for more than 30 years.He married the love of his life, Corina Olguin, of El Alto. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2009.They had one son, Paul David, who resides in Holman with Ella and three grandchildren, Santiago ""Santi,"" Elena, and Pablo, whom he loved dearly. Surviving him also is his sister-in-law, Dora Mascarenas, of Albuquerque, formerly of El Alto and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.Jimmy loved and enjoyed helping people. He was kind, and generous. He was a fun-loving person and greatly enjoyed spending time and eating out with all his friends and family. He will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gertrude's and burial will take place at the Catholic Cemetery in Mora.
