Sandra Kay HarrellSalisbury-Sandra Kay Harrell, 79, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, Mach 4th, at her home in Salisbury. She was 79 years old and had lung cancer and COPD. Her husband John, son Bruce, his wife Deanna, and grandchildren Tyler and Sophie were at her bedside. She was born on January 5, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the only child of George A. and Lulu M. (Fulkerson) Pennock. She was a graduate of Butler University. In 1962 she married Richard W. Roberts who died in an automobile accident in early 1965. She married John L. Harrell in 1969 and was an army wife for the next nine years. She had previously taught school for nine years. Their son Jeffrey was adopted in Germany in 1972 and son Bruce was born in Cincinnati in 1974. Upon her husband's retirement in 1978 they moved to Frederick, MD where they owned Landmark Printing. Sandy made sales calls and handled the bookkeeping. After they sold the business in 1999 she worked for Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. In 2006 she and her husband moved to Salisbury to be near their son and his family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffrey and three infants. She is survived by her husband, son Bruce, wife Deanna, grandchildren Tyler and Sophie and Samantha Shriver who lives in Ijamsville, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her at 11:00am Saturday March 11th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. There will be a Celebration of her Life immediately afterwards at the Mercy House behind the Church. Internment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Route 15 North in Frederick at 2:00 PM on Sunday March 12.
