Sandra Kay HaleLANCASTER: Sandra Kay (Karshner) Hale 70 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 19, 1946 to the late Durrell and Grace (Hatmaker) Karshner. She was a member of Cross Pointe Free Will Baptist Church and helped to support her husband in his Pastoral career. Sandy was a learning disabilities tutor for Lancaster City School district and retired in 2004. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roger L. Hale; daughter, Jodi (Barry R.) Poling of Bremen, Ohio; grandchildren, Rachel (Jon) Breunig, Lance Corporal Wyatt D. Moyer and Luke C. Poling; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and special friends, including a pen pal of 60 years from England.Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Ed and Elizabeth Hale, aunts, uncles and cousins.A special thanks to the staff of Fairfield Medical Center, Grant Hospital, Homestead, Lanfair and Winchester Place care centers, doctors, nurses and staff all over Central Ohio.Funeral service will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Reverends Bill Pitts and John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorial gifts may be given to Cross Pointe FWB Church, 657 E.
