Sachiye (Jean) KawamuraSachiye (Jean) Kawamura, 91, passed away on September 17, 2014 at a local care facility.Sachi was born on July 4, 1923 in Ucon, Idaho to Toku and Kotaro Kawamura. She graduated from Pocatello High School. She attended Idaho State University and graduated from business school. She then ventured off to Los Angeles, California. She worked for a produce company, Mushrooms, for most of her career. She never married, but had a long-time golf partner and travelling companion, Larry Chow. Together they traveled around the country to many elite golf courses. Sadly, Larry passed away in 1993. Sachi moved back to Pocatello in May, 2007 to be closer to family. She greatly enjoyed being with her sister Yoneko Watanabe until her passing in 2011. As Sachi's health gradually declined, she was increasingly dependent on her niece Patty Watanabe (Berthelson). She is survived by her younger sister, Amy (Hid) Miyawaki, Layton, Utah, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Toku and Kotaro Kawamura, sister Yoneko (Harry) Watanabe, Pocatello; brothers Akira (Lilly) Kawamura, Pocatello; Yukio (Yo) Kawamura, Palo Alto California; and Shin (Shirley) Kawamura, Pocatello, Idaho.A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
