Pohlman, RuthRuth W. Pohlman age 103, passed away on November 16, 2016 at the Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on September 30, 1913 in the Town of Winneconne, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Blankenhagen) Pohlman. She grew up in the area and was proud to have attended High School in Oshkosh and was one of the top students in her class. She was unable to join the WACS in WWII, because she didn't weigh 100 Lbs., which was a requirement then. It was a big disappointment to her since her brothers were all in WWII. She was always helping someone, especially helping raise 11 nieces and nephews and other families who needed her. She later lived on the farm with her brothers in the Ripon area till she moved to Waupaca in 2005. Ruth is survived by 7 nieces and 3 nephews and other friends.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Elizabeth Pohlman, one sister Eunice Romberg, three brothers Harvey, Clarence and William Pohlman and a niece Linda Hidde.A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 21, 2016 at 11AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Chaplain John Schmidt will officiate with burial to follow at the Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh. A visitation will be held on Monday at the Holly Funeral Home from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11AM.
