Ruth M. Racer , 93Muncie - Ruth M. Racer Turney, 93, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Golden Living Center.Mrs. Turney was born on April 7, 1923, in Portland, IN, the daughter of Marvin Eugene and Ethel Myrtle Mae (Swank) McNutt.Ruth graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1941. She married Robert A. Racer on November 11, 1942, in Dunkirk, IN. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1995. She married Charles Turney on February 14, 1999, he preceded her in death on October 25, 2006.She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lois Vivian Dean, Cathleen Theol McNutt, and Esther Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Gick Wright.She and her family moved to Urbana, IL in 1959. She and Bob returned to Indiana in 1987. Ruth worked for Hood's Pharmacy, Magnavox, and Switchcraft. She was also an election judge. Ruth enjoyed cooking and playing cards.Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kay (Robert) Ogle of Champaign, IL; son, Stephen Lynn Racer of Muncie; granddaughters, Nancy Lynn (Jay) Gould of Noblesville and Carolyn Ann Ogle of Tampa, FL; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Gould of Champaign, IL, Courtney Gould of Noblesville, and Caden Gould of Noblesville; Charlie had five children, one including, Debbie Scott (Ramon) of Muncie.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Green Park Cemetery in Portland, IN.Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.Memorial contributions may be directed to Golden Living Center's Interactive Arts Program, 2701 Lyn-Mar Drive, Muncie, IN 47304.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortuary.com
