Ruth Jackson, 73, of San Antonio (Texas), Texas, passed on February 04, 2021. Ruth was born on April 08, 1947 to Ruby Lee Hartwell and Alfred Jackson Sr in Hutto, Texas. At an early age, Ruth became involved with church activities and other events. This same momentum carried into her school activities and she graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1965. From that point, Ruth took up different jobs in the workforce, including being employed at Bandera Downs and Retama Park. Being able to work at the horsetrack was one of her favorite pasttimes, on and off of the job. She eventually settled in at the Shoppette at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and she was employed there over 17 years. Throughout the years, Ruth enjoyed spending time with family, hosting house parties, and exploring a good yard sale or flea market from time to time. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred Jackson Sr, Ruby Lee Hartwell and Elmo Hartwell Sr, brothers Ervin Lee Jackson, Freddie Lee Jackson, Elmo Hartwell Jr, and Alfred Lee Jackson Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Everett Hartwell, sister Yvette Hartwell(Anthony), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
