RUTH HANOLD
BRIGHTON — Ruth Lillian Hanold, 91, of Brighton, passed away at 1:59 a.m. on Friday, Sept 1, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital ER. She was born on April 27, 1926, in Jerseyville, Illinois, to Walter and Ina Belle (Hunter) Long.
She married Pearley Hanold Sr. on April 7, 1956, in Brighton, Illinois. He passed away on June 3, 2000. She worked for the boxboard, glass works, Brighton Elevator, and she owned and operated a Brighton restaurant. Her family was the highlight of her life. She loved to read, play cards and was a fan of Cardinal Baseball.
She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Janet and Gary King of Alton, Marcia Bone of Brighton, Betty and Michael Roberts of Brighton, Judy and Stan Hunt of Brighton, Donna Rands of Brighton, and son and daughter-in-law: Pearley and Wreatha Hanold Jr. of Brighton, 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, Lois Long, Frances Long, Edith Moore and Mildred Orr, two brothers, William Charles Long and Walter John Long and a granddaughter, Sara Nicole Skjerseth.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sept 5, 2017 at Crossroads Community Church in Brighton where she was a member.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept 6, 2017 at Crossroads Community Church in Brighton with Pastors Stan Hunt and Michael Roberts officiating
Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery.
