Ruth Brady Shell, age 93, of St. Augustine, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. Mrs. Shell was born on Dec. 14, 1922, to James and Irene "Seary" Postgate in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, politics, and her job on Capitol Hill working for the lobbyist group National Small Business Association. The most important part of her life was being the best grandmother ever, and she succeeded! She was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Brady; second husband, Grover Shell; parents, James and Irene "Seary" Postgate; great-grandchild, Cooper Brady; and seven siblings. Survivors include son, Blane (Marlene) Brady; daughter, Kathy Brady; grandchildren, Blane (Donna) Brady Jr., Kim Sikes, Tyler (Ashley) Brady, and Matt (Kelsey) Brady; great-grandchildren, Tyson Brady, Jordan Brady, Ethan Sikes, Kyle Sikes and Greyson Brady. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities: 3940 Lewis Speedway, The Davis Building Suite 2103, St. Augustine, FL 32084, or 225 W. King St., St. Augustine, FL 32084. Arrangements are under the care of St. Johns Family Funeral Home & Crematory.
