Rufus FleemanRufus Fleeman, 82, of Delphi passed away on Dec. 11, 2014 at his home. Rufus was born on Feb. 21, 1932 in Harrogate, TN to the late Andy and Ida (Cox) Fleeman. He attended Little Creek Schools in Harrogate, TN.His 1st marriage was to Lucille Young in 1950 and they divorced in 1953. His 2nd marriage was to Deloris Wright on Sept. 23, 1957 and they divorced in January 1985.Mr. Fleeman retired from Speedway in 1997 after 17 years in their employ. He also had worked at National Homes from 1952-1984.Rufus enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching NASCAR and spending precious time with his grandchildren.He is survived by daughters: Patsy Achor (Dean) of Delphi, Tammie Ricketts (David) of Crawfordsville, Cheri Hilyard (Sonny) of Williamston, MI; sons: Larry Fleeman (Jessie) of Dayton, OH, William Fleeman of Lafayette, Rufus Fleeman, Jr. of Kernersville, NC; 12 grandchildren: Amanda McCardle, Tim Fleeman, Dawnita Willis, Tabbitha Willis, Michael Bane, Eric Bane, Brock Fleeman, Megan Fleeman, Dustin Sturgill, Greg Gill, Ed Moore, Jonathan Moore, 6 stepgrandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings: Minnie, Ray, Barbara, Murphy, Janet of Tennessee and Lila of California. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Roy and Noah; sisters: Dorey and an infant.Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi. Services will be there on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Burial will be in Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette.Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
