Roy Tatro1937 - 2013Roy Tatro, 76, Rockford, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 13, 1937 in Fort Ripley, Minn.; the son of Leo and Anna (Conley) Tatro. Roy married the love of his life, Gina Ruffalo on July 13, 1963. He was a proud U.S. veteran serving in the Air Force. He worked in management for Modern Suspension until his retirement in 2006. Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed cooking and grilling. He was an avid fisherman and a Green Bay Packers Fan. Roy will be missed by those who loved him and those who knew him. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to OSF Hospice and Home Instead for their compassionate care.He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gina; daughter, Susan (Matthew) Marshall; grandchildren, Sara and Alex Marshall; sister, Alice Ivsac of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; daughter, Lesa Tatro; granddaughter, Alana Marshall; brothers, Leo and Richard Tatro.Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Dr. Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at Church.
