Mayhugh, Rosemary Ann (Valentine)Rosemary Ann (Valentine) Mayhugh, 85, Green Bay, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born on September 14, 1931, in Green Bay to Roy and Estelle (Hanson) Valentine.Rosemary grew up in the Town of Preble and attended Oak Grove Elementary School. She graduated from Green Bay East High School, Class of 1949. Rosemary married Richard Martin Mayhugh on February 7, 1952. She worked at H.C. Prange Co. as an auditor in the Accounting Department until her marriage when she became a full-time homemaker and mother.She cherished her role as wife and mother and ran her household of eight like a well-oiled machine. She enjoyed decorating her home and made every room warm and inviting. Her delicious meals and desserts left nobody hungry! Her dishes were especially popular at church potlucks. She sang in the Grace Lutheran Church choir for many years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels through the Green Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a quiet person, deeply intuitive and observant, with a rare eye for beauty and order. But she also had a surprising, sharp eye for the comical and a very wry sense of humor. She was known for her beautiful penmanship, for which she won first prize in a high school penmanship contest.Rosemary is survived by six children and their spouses: Kevin (Mary Lowe) Mayhugh, Washington DC; Jody Mayhugh, Visalia, CA; Kelly Mayhugh, Green Bay; Paula (Bill) Van De Laarschot, Minneapolis, MN; Megan Mayhugh, Green Bay; and Shannon (Greta) Mayhugh, Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren and their spouses: Sam (Samantha) Van De Laarschot; Sara O'Brien; Emilee (Ethan Schultz) Van De Laarschot; Paul O'Brien; Casey Van De Laarschot; and Bennett Mayhugh; and two great-granddaughters, Cameron and Piper Van De Laarschot.She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mayhugh; grandson, John Powell Mayhugh; and a brother- and sister-in-law, John and Carol (Swette) Mayhugh; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis (Bill) Vickery, Betty (Jim) Stoveken, Donna (George) Bielefeldt.Friends may gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January, 11.
