1934 - 2016 Rose Marie Bruton, 82, of Beaumont, TX formerly of Kirbyville, TX died Oct 31, 2016 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on Feb 12, 1934 to Felix and Rosemary Grechar in Forest City, PA. Rose loved reading gardening shopping and volunteering at Kirbyville Christian Outreach and the Kirbyville Public Library. She was very active in her church, Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church serving as a Lector, Commentator, Eucharistic Minister, Secretary of The Ladies of LaSalette, and Secretary of Parish Council. She spent 2 years in the U.S. Women's Army Corp. where she met her husband, Ted. They married on Feb 4, 1954 and her career as an Army wife began. After being stationed in Ft. Huachuca, AZ; Frankfurt, Germany, Tacoma, WA, Augusta, GA (2 times),Okinawa, Japan and McAlister, OK. They finally settled in Kirbyville, TX where they lived for 46 years. During those years, Rose went from being a homemaker to 2 careers as an insurance clerk working first for Dr. Jimmy Bussey and Dr. Erlinda Tan. She and Ted moved to Collier Park in Beaumont, TX in June 2015 where they made many new friends and memories. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bobby Grechar and sister Nancy Skowronski. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ted E. Bruton, daughters Denise (Neil) Wike of Beaumont, Alisa (Larry) Nutt of Kirbyville, Linda (Raymond) Rachal of Orange and Son, Keith Bruton of Tampa, FL. Also her Grandchildren, Shane Nutt, Sarah Nutt, Carla Seaman, Kristen King, Blake Wike, Tyler Wike, Savannah Bruton, Christopher Bruton and great-grandchild Hayden Seaman; and a brother, Al Grechar of Ohio. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Kirbyville with burial at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with a Rosary at 7 pm at the funeral home.
