Rose Loesch, 100WatkinsJuly 8, 1916 - November 9, 2016Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Loesch, 100, of Watkins will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Rose passed away at the Hilltop Care Center on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday (today) and from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, both at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Watkins Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.Rose Loesch was born on July 8, 1916 at Marty, MN. She was the daughter of Henry and Susan (Garding) Schneider. On October 10, 1938 she was united in marriage to Arthur Loesch. They worked together farming the Loesch family farm near Watkins until they retired. After Arthur passed away in 1978, Rose began sharing her sewing talents. As a skilled seamstress, she designed and altered dresses for many wedding parties. She also made and quilted by hand beautiful quilts for her family and others. Rose enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and playing cards. Through the years she was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, St. Anthony CCW, St. Therese Mission and Catholic United Financial.Survivors include her children, Betty (Ralph) Vossen of Watkins and Elaine DeWenter of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Ron (Theresa) Vossen, Jenny DeWenter, Michele (Troy) Kockler, and John (Kim) Vossen; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Martha Schneider of Watkins.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; son-in-law, Bill DeWenter; siblings, Clara Erpelding, Al, Mark, Walter, and Alma Schneider.The family would like to thank the staff at the Hilltop Care Center for the wonderful care provided to their mother.
