Demeny, Rose KatherineRose K. Demeny, 97, Neenah, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 11, 2017. She was born on August 21, 1919, in the Town of Clayton, the daughter of Ernest and Katherine (Hanagan) Phillips. Rose was united in marriage to Louis Demeny on August 14, 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2002. She was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish, Neenah, and a past leader of TOPS of WI #243. She enjoyed growing flowers, baking, genealogy, writing poems and stories, and a variety of crafts over the years.Rose is survived by her 6 children: Dave (Jane) Demeny, TX; Deanna Demeny, WI; Tom (Georgia) Demeny, LA; Rosemary (Dan) Thorne, WI; Betsy (George) Cecchetti, VA; and Dan Demeny, OR; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 sisters: Patricia Grall and Ramona (Rodney) Coughlin; a sister-in-law: Margaret Phillips; and many other relatives and friends.In addition to her husband, Rose is further preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers: Infants Harold and Raymond Phillips, Bud Phillips, and Donald (Joan) Phillips; and a sister: Marie Phillips.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated.Rose's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Rose's caregivers, especially her two daughters Deanna and Rosemary; and the staff at Affinity Hospice, for all of their care and compassion.
