WESCOTT Ronald (Ronnie) William, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Weddington, NC, after a long battle with renal failure. He was born on November 15, 1932, to William and Lila Wescott in Forest City, PA. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Louise Wescott, of Weddington, NC (formerly of Wayne, NJ); his brother, Wayne Wescott and wife Joyce of Nicholson, PA; his sister Naomi McClure and husband Hayden of Palmer, AK; his sons Thomas Wescott and wife Lori of Las Vegas, NV; Stephen Wescott and wife Helen of Sandyston, NJ; Timothy Wescott and wife Joanne of Weddington, NC; his grandchildren Kaitlyn Russell and husband AJ; Sean Wescott, Keith Wescott and wife Mary; Michelle Keuhlen and husband Travis; Lauren Edwards and husband Jason; Jennifer Courville and husband Jon; Bethany, Christopher, Marianna, and Melissa Wescott, his great grandchildren Lindsey Russell, Karissa Russell, Makenna Russell, Ella Wescott, Aiden Wescott, and two more on the way. Ronnie lived most of his life in Wayne, NJ, and was a longtime member of these NJ organizations: United Methodist Church of Wayne, past member of Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 and the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad, and past member of Wayne Township Lions Club. Ronnie played Santa Claus for two generations of children in Wayne and the surrounding areas, starting with the Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 and continuing through neighborhood homes, the North Jersey Fireman's Home, and other organizations. His deep voice, blue eyes, and booming Ho-Ho-Ho is fondly remembered by many. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Graceway Baptist Church, 4700 Monroe-Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28104.
