Ronald ScharbackRonald Scharback, age 88, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Westwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017, with his family by his side, at Sun City Center Hospice House. He was born on July 2, 1929 in Passaic, NJ to Efim and Mary (Bialko) Scharback.He grew up in Garfield, NJ where he enjoyed hunting and fishing as a young man. Ron graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BS in Business. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1953 and served his country for 30 years, retiring as a Colonel. Ron worked for AT&T for 25 years. Upon retiring from AT&T, Ron and his wife, Marlene moved to Sun City Center. Ron enjoyed golfing with his wife and friends. He was an accomplished pianist. Ron enjoyed playing the piano at many parties for his family and friends. Ron and his family enjoyed many summers at Topsail Island, NC, where Ron and his wife owned a second home for 26 years. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Mosaic Lodge #194, Ridgefield Park, NJ and Redeemer Lutheran Church. Ron was very active in many other organizations in NJ and NY. Ron was a caring and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlene; daughter; Lynn Sheridan and her husband, Patrick; son, Glenn Scharback and his wife, Alison; brother, Dennis Scharback; four grandchildren: Jaclyn (Mike) Brunetto, Erin (Fiancé, Matt) Sheridan, Brian Sheridan, Lucille Scharback; and niece Loren Miller.Memorial Service with Military Honors will be 11 AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 701 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center, FLA. Private interment at Sarasota National Cemetery.
