Rodney Richard Piles Rodney Richard Piles died peacefully with his sons at his side in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the age of 69. Rodney is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Jane Piles of Topeka, Kansas, and their three children; Riley, Sydney and Mac. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd & Carol Piles of Tulsa, Oklahoma and their two children; Carson and Adrian. Rodney is survived by his brother, Jim Piles of Waldron, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olen & Fern Piles of Waldron, Arkansas; brother, DeWayne Piles of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and the mother of his sons, Paula Piles of Topeka, Kansas. Rodney was born on November 18, 1946 in Waldron, Arkansas to Olen and Fern Piles. He married Paula Essman and moved to Topeka, Kansas. Rodney had a long career in dairy sales in both Topeka and Tulsa and continued to work for Borden Dairy until his retirement in 2013. Rodney truly loved his family and was especially proud of his five grandchildren. He was a Kansas Jayhawk fan and an avid golfer. Rodney greatly enjoyed time on the golf course with his family and friends and was a long-time member of Forest Ridge Golf Club. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma. All are invited to attend Rodney's celebration of life. Memorial contributions may be made in Rodney's name to Saint Francis Hospice at 6600 S. Yale Avenue, Suite 350, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74133. The family would like to thank all those who shared in Rodney s life and expressed such kindness, love and compassion to him over the years and especially in his final weeks battling cancer.
