Lifelong Oscoda resident Rodger M. Peltier passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. He was born on Aug. 4, 1942, in Flint to Lloyd and Laura Peltier (nee Bunting). Rodger was a manager at Starboard Industries for many years. He also worked for Al Haney with Al's Electric. Rodger was always tinkering with old cars and enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden. He is survived by his children, Rodger Peltier of Oscoda, Janine Skunda of Cadillac, Stephanie (Marty) Hulverson of Oscoda and Duane Peltier of East Lansing; and his very special friend for many years, Joyce Watson of Tawas. Rodger is also survived by his sisters, Julie (Bill) Dorcey and Debbie (Steve) Walwrath; his grandchildren, Gabe and Gracy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Laura Peltier. Rodger will be missed by his family and friends as he was a beloved father and a loyal friend. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John G. MacDonald, assisted by Bill Dorcey. A luncheon will follow the service at Hope St. John's Parish, 223 E.
