Rodger Dean CoatneySept 9, 1955 - June 20, 2016Rodger Dean Coatney, 60, passed away in Portland, OR on June 20, 2016. Rodger was born on September 9, 1955 in Caldwell, ID to Juanita and Lawrence Coatney. He served in the Army from 1979 to 1995 receiving an early retirement. During his service he was deployed in support of the Gulf War. Upon retirement from the Army, Rodger worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist. He had a joyous personality whose smile and laughter was infectious to everyone he met. Rodger was preceded in death by his brother, Will, in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Heather and her husband, Kelvin; grandchildren, Leah, Julian, and Ethan; step-daughter, Debra; his parents, Juanita and Lawrence; and his brothers, Wes and Darrell. A viewing will be held on July 5, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 am at Bowman Funeral Parlor with a graveside service to be held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 am July 5, 2016.
