Robert Scholtz, age 93, of Tawas City passed away on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at his home in Tawas City.He was born on Feb. 16, 1917, in Tawas City. Mr. Scholtz served three years overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant, seeing service in North Africa, Italy, France, Luxemburg and Germany. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and five battle stars, also the purple heart. Mr. Scholtz worked for 35 years as a supervisor for the Pontiac Division of General Motors Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Alice Scholtz. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Simson of Poway, Calif.; and a stepson, William Tower, and his wife Nancy of Tawas City. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Buresh and Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas City.
