Robert S. KernMETAMORA - Robert S. Kern, 76, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL.He was born on November 25, 1940, in Eureka, IL, to Scoville M. and Kathryn (Nixon) Kern. He married Della M. "Mickey" Langabeer on January 10, 1964, in Peoria, IL. She passed away on May 15, 1990. He then married Victoria J. "Vicki" Cullen on July 16, 1993 in Secor, IL. She survives.Also surviving are his son, Ken (Carolyn) Kern of Metamora; daughter, Tami Page of Peoria; step-children, Stacey (Tim) Boland and Matthew Cullen, both of Eureka; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; and one sister, Linda (Don Ferm) Moore of Anaheim, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mickey; and son, Robert S. "Robby" Kern in 1982.He was a life-long farmer in Metamora. He served in the Air National Guard. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor, IL. He was a former member of the Metamora Christian Union Church Board and the Metamora Township High School District #122 School Board. He was a current member of the Metamora Rural Fire District Board and the Mt. Zion Cemetery Board. He was a Bradley Braves fan.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor, with the Reverend Michael Peters officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, and also one hour prior to his service on Friday at the church.
