Robert Lee "Bob" HarmonCordova, tnRobert Lee "Bob" Harmon. Robert passed August 18, 2017, after a long bout with cancer. He fought the fight long and hard, never gave up. Robert was born on September 5, 1946 to E. G. and Juanita Harmon in Vardaman, MS. Robert graduated from Hume's High School in 1965 where he was voted Most Wittiest. He served his country in Vietnam in the U. S. Army upon graduation. He retired from Merck/Schering Plough, Inc., after 42 years of service. He was active in sports and loved the Tigers and Grizzlies. He coached his sons in baseball, basketball, and soccer as well as the girls' softball team for Plough. He also played baseball for Schering Plough as well as softball. Later in life he was the "official scorekeeper" known as "Pops" and assistant coach for Triangle and Public Enemy men's softball teams. Robert was able to touch everyone's life he met. If you were lucky enough to have met him, then you knew you had a friend forever. He loved his family most in life. He recently became confirmed in the Catholic Church and was so proud he had finally found his spiritual being. He is predeceased by his parents, E. G. and Juanita Harmon and his father-in-law, James "Buck" Murnin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine "Cathy" Murnin Harmon; two sons, Jeremy Harmon (Jennifer), Chad Harmon (Nicole); two granddaughters, Aubrie and Cassie Harmon and two step-grandchildren, Callie Warmbrod and James Warmbrod. His brothers, Jackie (Glynda) Harmon of Memphis, TN, Steve Harmon of Vardaman, MS and his mother-in-law, Barbara Murnin and his beloved pet Yorkie, Ziggy Harley Davidson Harmon. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham Warr, for his special care along with Baptist Trinity Hospice, especially Julie, Stacy, Amy and Shurlean who gave such tender mercies to him and his family. Honorary Pallbearers will be Public Enemy Men's softball Coaches and players. Pallbearers will be Keith Domino, Andy Domino, Kevin Domino, J. W. Nolen, Josh Harmon and Phillip Murnin, Paul Bryant and Jerry Andrews. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 24, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8151 Chimney Rock Blvd., Cordova, TN.
