Robert J SnyderRobert (Bob) Jean Snyder, age 84, of Ellensburg, Washington passed away on November 19, 2014 peacefully in his home. Bob was born on March 12, 1930 to Art and Rose Snyder. Following graduation from Ellensburg High School in 1949, he was a Sargent in the United States Marine Corp and subsequently fought in the Korean War as a Tracked Vehicle Chief with the 1st Marine Division. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Ellensburg and assisted his father with the family farm on Snyder Road. Bob worked for St. Vincent de Paul for many years before joining the Ellensburg Telephone Company in 1969 as Service Center Bob where he retired following 25 years of service. Bob was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.Bob enjoyed hunting with his sons and attending Tuesday morning breakfast with his veteran buddies. Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Peggy, on April 19, 2014, as well as his parents. He is remembered by his 7 children, Mike Snyder (Val), Sue Riddle (Ken), Rob Snyder (Shellie), Jeanette DeFoe (Dan), Dan Snyder (Christy), Steve Snyder, David Snyder, all of Ellensburg, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.A rosary service will be held on Friday, November 28th at 7pm. Memorial services on Saturday, November 29th at 11am. Both services will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the .
