Robert E. Armold, 88Robert E. Armold, 88, of Fowler, died at 8:31 pm, November 2, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East of Lafayette. He was born on May 28, 1925 in Wolcott to Glen and Esther (Lightfoot) Armold. He attended Mt. Gilboa High School. He went on to join the United States
Army and was an honorably discharged
WWII veteran. He was happily married to Glenora (Hackley) Armold for 66 years. She survives. He was a member of the
VFW and American Legion of Fowler, Masonic Lodge of Remington, Scottish Right, and the Shrine Club. Mr. Armold was a farmer, barber, and business owner. He loved telling jokes, being with his family, and was a lifelong (disappointed) Cubs fan. He was famous for his double back-flip and finger trick until the end. Surviving with his wife are his children, Ronald Armold (wife: Joan), Sheryl Ihle (husband: Paul), Jeanne Schroeder (husband: Ed), and David Armold (wife: Lisa); brother, Richard Armold (wife: Nancy); 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death with his parents is a sister, Elinor Lynn.
