Rita A. King WhitbyPrincess Anne-Rita A. King-Whitby, age 85, lived in Shady Side, Anne Arundel County until 1989 when she and her husband moved to Cocoa, Florida. In 2009, she came to live with her daughter in Princess Anne. She passed away April 21, 2017 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne, Maryland.She was born on October 10, 1931 in Washington DC, a daughter of the late Winifred Reagan-King and Albert W. King. Rita was a longtime member of the Lady Elks. She attended St. Paul's Old Spring Hill Parish Episcopal Church until her health prevented her from going. She will be greatly missed by her family.She is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Lovett and her husband William "Tommy" Lovett; three grandchildren, Tom Jr., Angie Marie and Michael and his wife Linda; and five great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. "Wally" Whitby, Sr.; and three sons, Albert W. Whitby, Jr., David W. Whitby and Daniel A. Whitby.A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Paul's Old Spring Hill Parish Episcopal Church in Hebron, Maryland.In memory of Mrs. Whitby, contributions may be sent to St. Paul's Old Spring Hill Parish Episcopal Church, 8700 Memory Garden Lane, Hebron, MD 21830.Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar, Delaware.
