RACINE - Richard H. Dissmore, 66, passed away on May 21, 2013 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints. Richard was born on October 21, 1946 in Whitehall, WI to the late Ruben and Minnie (nee: Johnson) Dissmore. He was united in marriage to Sherrie (nee: Hargraves) on October 19, 1991 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Racine. Richard proudly served his country as a Navy Seabee, serving two tours of Vietnam where he specialized in building construction. He was later employed with Metzners and ISP International Stapling in Racine until his retirement in March of 2004. Richard will be best remembered as a musician for over 40 years; he played the fiddle, lead guitar, bass guitar, and sang vocals as a member of the band “Still Crazy”. He also belonged to the American Legion and participated in many summer activities. Richard enjoyed eating out at restaurants and also loved watching local boxing matches. He loved fellowship and sharing jokes with his family and friends. Richard will be dearly missed by his wife, Sherrie of 32 years; his daughter, Patty Czajkowski; two grandchildren, Amy and Amanda Czajkowski; two brothers, Lloyd and James Dissmore, sister, Frances, Ruetten; sister-in-law, Nelva Dissmore, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dissmore; two sisters, Ruby Dissmore and Ruth Rosenberg; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Ruetten and Bruce Rosenberg; and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Margaret Dissmore. A Memorial Service in honor of Richard will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11:00am. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00am until the time of service. Private inurnment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the .
