Richard Thomas "Rick" Long, age 51, of North East, died on Friday, December 16, 2016. He was born on April 7, 1965 in Erie, Pa. to Nancy E. (McLaughlin) Long of North East and the late John W. Long, Jr. He graduated from North East High School in 1984 and served in the National Guard Reserves. He was formerly employed as a welder by General Electric, American Sterilizer, and Don Jon. Rick was a devoted father and was helpful to friends and family. He was artistic and talented and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, cooking, and grilling. He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Rex "Randy" Long (2000) and Wesley Long (1986). Rick leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, his son, Dustin Greishaw (Mary) of North East; daughters, Sierra Long and Molly Long of North East; grandsons, Jayden, Landen, and Reese Greishaw; brother, Bruce Long (Pat) of North East; sisters, Susan Campbell of North East, Barbara Kindler (Rod) of Greensburg, Pa., Carol Odbert (Fred) of Brookeville, Md., and Sally Skelly of North East; sister-in-law, Kitty Long of Erie; nieces, Jackie Pinkston (David), Sarah Davis (Brad), Alanna Kindler, Emily Odbert, and Erin Skelly; nephews, Joseph Long (Saira), Michael Long, Clay Campbell (Janelle), Mark Kindler, Jonathan Odbert, and Brian Skelly. Also survived by eight great-nieces and nephews, several cousins, and numerous friends, especially Scott McGaughey (Paula) of North East. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Rev. Larry Reitz.
