Richard E. MillerNew FreedomRichard E. Miller, 74, died Sunday November 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Donna R. (Zepp) Miller with whom he shared a 54th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2017.Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday November 18, 2017 at St. Paul (Hametown) Lutheran Church, 11894 Susquehanna Trail South, Glen Rock, with his pastor, the Rev. Katie Brantner, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. A visitation for friends and family to share their memories will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., Glen Rock, is assisting the family with these arrangements. Mr. Miller was born on October 13, 1943, in Glen Rock, a son of the late Luther and Hilda (Seaks) Miller.Mr. Miller was a graduate of Susquehannock High School, graduating class of 1962. He was a Superintendent for Kinsley Construction, where he also taught the Apprentice Program. Prior to that he had worked for Keener Kitchens and owned his own construction company for a few years. Richard was a life member of St. Paul (Hametown) Lutheran Church, and a life member of the York County Corvette Club. He was a leader for the Shrewsbury 4-H, a member of Our Gang Horse Riding Club, delivered meals on wheels for the New Freedom Senior Center and was the organizer, and a member of the One Room Schoolhouse of Southern York County. Besides his wife, Donna, he leaves three daughters, Rev. Sherry A. Miller and wife, Kathy Mansfield of Chambersburg, Susan B. Holtzinger and husband, John of New Freedom, and Stacy C. Igo and husband, Philip of North East, MD; three grandchildren, Amanda Logue, Zachary Holtzinger, and Sara Igo; and a brother-in-law, Donald L. "Dick" Winemiller. He was preceded in death by five siblings.
