ASHLEY — Richard G. Elworthy, 87, died Monday, June 6, 2016. Mr. Elworthy owned and operated the Standard Gas Station in Ashley for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was born on Oct. 17, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, to William G. and Olivia (Zurbrugg) Elworthy. Surviving are two daughters, Linda and Patrick Brames of Monroeville and Mary Jo and Ricky Brainin of Chicago; two sons, Daniel Elworthy of New Haven and William Elworthy of Fort Wayne; one sister, Phyllis Bush of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at Johnson Funeral Home in Hudson. Pastor Donna Holcomb will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Lake Cemetery with military graveside services.
