Cail, Richard Carlton Richard Carlton Cail, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his home in Peoria, Arizona following a prolonged battle with cancer. Richard, the eldest son of Clarence and Harriet (Freeman) Cail, was born on August 25, 1932 in Exeter, NH where he attended Exeter High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1950 during the Korean War where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant at the time of his honorable discharge. Richard married Sheila Jane Donovan on March 4, 1954 in Greenville, SC, where they were both stationed in the US Air Force. Richard moved his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1962. He worked as an automobile technician at various new car dealerships in Glendale. He enjoyed gardening, lake and stream trout fishing, listening to country/western music, and was very creative in the visual arts field specializing in ornamental metal work as well as jewelry. He was a member of the American Legion Post #107. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sheila; two children Sandra (Matt) Cail-Poole and son Brian (Christina) Cail; a sister, Janet Wiggins of Mountlake Terrace, WA; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth Cail and William "Bill" Cail. Graveside Committal services will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
