LAURINBURG — Richard Arlen Price, Sr., 83, passed away at Morrison Manor on Aug.29, 2015.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Mike Price and the Rev. Gary Lockey. A private burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
Richard was born on Aug. 2, 1932 in Gastonia, son to the late Millard F. and Gertrude Cooper Price. He had a distinguished career in manufacturing as a supervisor with Pyramid Electric, IRC-TRW, Texas Instruments and Singer-Friden and then retiring after 16 years from Abbott Laboratories where he served in the Laurinburg, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and Donegal, Ireland plants.
Richard was a Christian family man who was all about God and his country and the Bible was his favorite book.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Dixon Price and stepson Glen Lockey.
Richard is survived by his sons Richard "Rick" Price, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Mocksville and Ronald "Rod" Price of Collettsville, stepson the Rev. Gary Lockey and wife Felisa of Laurinburg, stepdaughters Charmin Poole and husband Chuck of Laurinburg and Christy Wilkes and husband Wayne of Laurinburg, sister Barbara Joyce Messer and husband Robert of Gastonia, brothers Grover Allen Price and wife Debbie of Statesville and Michael David Price and wife Juanita of Bessemer City, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
