March 25, 1923 - November 21, 2016Rebekah Webb Richards, age 93, went to be with her Savior on November 21, 2016. She was born on March 25, 1923, to Dr. Perry F. Webb and Thelma Stahl Webb in Malvern, Arkansas. Rebekah graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio and was a proud member of the Lassos. She attended Baylor University, where she studied music and speech. While there, she joined the Athenean Club, which later became Kappa Kappa Gamma.Rebekah married Dr. Fred V. Richards on April 29, 1944, and they settled in Tulia, Texas, at the end of World War II. She spent the next 50 years pouring her life into her family as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and faithful daughter. While in Tulia, Rebekah and Fred were active members of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Favorite pastimes included reading, playing the piano and telling stories to her grandchildren in her swing. After retiring to San Antonio in 1994, they became active members of First Baptist Church of San Antonio, where she served on several committees.Rebekah is survived by four children and their spouses: Sara Burk (Ken), of San Antonio, Dr. Fred Richards III (Clarinda), of San Antonio, John Richards (Melinda), of Houston, and Elizabeth Ann Stone (Ken), of Dallas. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Rebekah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Perry Webb, Jr.Rebekah's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 2 p.m., in the Wilson Chapel at First Baptist Church of San Antonio.
