Weigelt, RaymondRaymond H. Weigelt, 89, of Oconto, WI, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 at Woodlands Nursing Home in Oconto. Ray was born on November 11, 1927 in Oconto to the late Edgar and Hattie (Peterman) Weigelt. He attended Oconto High School until leaving in 1946 to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a clerk. Following his discharge, he met the love of his life, the late Jane Wenzel. They were united in marriage on June 30, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church, Oconto and would spend 61 years together until Jane's passing in 2013. Raymond was employed with Elliott Glove Company for over 42 years until his retirement. In his spare time Ray enjoyed cutting wood, rooting for the Packers, listening to polka music, gardening, quiet time with himself, spending time with his family and watching anything grow, especially Begonia flowers.Raymond is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughters, Sandy Cain, Oconto, and Nancy (Clyde) Rasmussen, Green Bay; grandson, Travis (Suzie) Cain, Oconto; grandchildren, Brianna and Harrison Cain, Oconto; step-grandchildren, Danielle (Mike) Conlon, Oconto, Nicole (Ken) LeMere, Brookside, and Jason (Shannon) Rasmussen, Green Bay; step-great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Breckston Conlon, Jacob, Grace and Elijah LeMere, and Colton and Hudson Rasmussen; brother, Harold Weigelt; sister, Carol Sagen; also many other relatives and friends.Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Weigelt; sister, Pearl LaMountain; and son-in-law, James Cain.Visitation will be held on Sat., September 9, from 11 AM-1 PM at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto, with a Memorial Service following at 1 P.M. Inurnment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto, where Military Honors will be rendered.
