Payne, Raymond Joseph Raymond Joseph Payne, 90, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, September 1, 2017. Ray was born on June 15, 1927 in Chicago, IL (Bridgeport). In the late 1940's, Ray was a featherweight boxer at Marigold Gardens and the Keymen Club in Chicago, IL. Ray may have fought as a featherweight, but to his family and friends, he was a heavyweight, a giant of a man, where he earned his boxing nickname, "Rock". Ray proudly served in the United States Army and was a Teamster for 40 years, retiring in November 1991 to Scottsdale, AZ. Ray's greatest accomplishment was his family, however, he also had a passion for golf and was blessed with 2 holes-in-one. Ray is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 52 years, Jackie (Incandella); daughters, Lisa Watson (Randy), Jolene Minuskin (Steve "ZB"); son, Michael (Sherri); daughters, Gale (Joe) Sobota, Linda (Jim) Hererra and son, John (Angela); his most cherished grandchildren and the love of his life, Blake Ware; Kayla and Ryan Fogel; Cori, Kylie (Lil Ray) and Max Sobota; Jessica, Jacob and Jayda Hererra; James Payne and Ray's little fur buddy, "Rocco". Brother-in-law to Anmari (Nunzio) Panariello and our extended family of over 40 years, The Brosten Family, Larry, Marcy, Adam and Cara. Uncle to Lia and Joey Panariello; Frankie and Salvatore Incandella; great uncle to Tiffaney Will and Jeff Ross. From the bottom of our hearts, we are forever grateful to for the loving care and dignity you brought to our family.
